Last week, we got the chance to participate in GetYourGuide’s first ever  Training Days. Over the course of the last 9 months the Management Team had the opportunity to participate in a Leadership training. As part of their official graduation they organized the Training Days to pass on their main learnings to the rest of the team by facilitating the sessions. People from offices all over the world came to our Berlin office for the training days and Holiday party (stay tuned for the party post which will be up later this week!) The training days proved to be a huge success for both presenters and participants, we’re already looking forward to the next round of training days!

During the training days we learned about:

Building Trust: Presented by Alexi, Country Manager UK and Rodrigo, Engineering Team Lead, this session covered topics including the importance of Being Present, The Anatomy Of Trust, Trust V Respect and Changing Levels of Trust.

Feedback - Intro to Powerful Feedback Techniques: Alex W, Head of Data Science, and Eleni, Head of Customer Service, taught participants different types of feedback including Growth, Encouraging, Feed-back and Feed-forward (very simply put, feed-forward feedback consists of providing future-oriented solutions, rather than just providing positive or negative feedback).  Members got the chance to discuss results and how to use these skills on a daily basis.

Grow Together: Building Cross-functional Support Teams: Fabian, Head of Sales Operations, and Tom Seuren, Head of SEM, taught teams to build a support network across the whole company, introduced concepts of peer counselling and demonstrated some counselling exercises.

Be a Champion at Work: Here, Mathieu, Head of Data Engineering, and Cecile, Regional Manager France and UK, explained various engagement factors, created awareness and devised a plan to increase personal engagement. This session also included team exercises and individual reflection.

Understanding Change: Peter Morczinek, Product Manager - Marketplace, Anne-Cécile Tomlinson, Head of Content Operations, and Tinoo Singh, Head of Product Engagement, helped participants adapt to change in the workplace. Participants were given tools to help them quickly adapt to change and move forward in an ever-changing workplace.

The Power of Being Here Now: Presented by Marcus, Head of Technical Support, and Marta, Country Manager Spain, participants gained an understanding on how they could enjoy work and life much more by making a conscious decision about their attitude. Presenters also covered how lack of presence can affect others and how being present in the workplace could help you gain more respect from colleagues.
