Interviews - who, what, when?

So that we really get to know you, we may invite you to several types of interviews. Below you can read more about phone interviews, hiring manager interviews and culture fit interviews. And keep an eye out for interview advice coming soon.

At the crux of any interview, we are trying to assess how the job would suit your attitude, skills and experiences. Which means we are also thinking about how our way of working, the team and the company would suit you. Also remember that interviews are a great way for you to decide whether the job and GetYourGuide is right for you, so go ahead and grill us with your questions!

Phone interview

Your first interview with us will always be a phone interview. This is normally conducted by our recruitment team and it is the first chance we get to speak with candidates. The call takes about half an hour and is a great way for you to hear more about the job, our team and to ask us any questions. We will also ask you some preliminary interview questions about your expectations, experience and reasons for applying at GetYourGuide.

Hiring manager interview

This interview is generally conducted face-to-face in our office, although you can talk to us about other options (like Google Hangouts or Skype) if you are in another city at the time. In this interview you’ll get a peek into the office and will meet the hiring manager, and someone else from the team or recruitment. The interviewers may look at your CV, ask questions about different competencies and skills and consider how the team and work environment might suit your style. And of course they’ll be ready to answer your tough questions!

Culture fit interview

While in our office, you will also have a ‘Culture Fit’ interview. Depending on what suits everyone best, you may have this interview on the same day as your hiring manager interview, or we might make a new appointment for you at another time. Whatever the case, our recruitment team will keep you in the loop.

In the culture fit interview, someone from outside of the immediate team explains and asks you questions about our core company values. The aim of this discussion is for both the candidate and GetYourGuide to understand whether our Company Culture is right for you. More about the importance of Culture Fit interviews coming soon!
