Tests - We Love Challenges!
Now comes the fun stuff - testing what we’ve talked about! We’ve found that a really great way to see how you’ll handle some of our work is to give you a chance to do some. You might get this chance with a short take home test after the phone interview, or a longer technical challenge during a face-to-face meeting.
Take home test
The take home test, which our recruitment team will explain and send to you, is designed by the hiring area and will be examples of some common tasks you can expect in the role. So while we test how you handle it, they’re also a great way for you to see what the job actually involves! The test differs between roles, but it could be a short editing exercise, a chance to write a job description or anything from creating a cool mobile app to solving a complex data problem.
If you make it to a face-to-face interview, we’ll want to test your technical skills in more detail. This part of the journey is your opportunity to show us your coding abilities, amazing design feats or sell us an idea! You might have an on-site test, a role-play or give us an incredible presentation. Whatever it is, recruitment will let you know the details, including when it will be, and feel free to ask questions about it prior to the day. We think this stage is just as important for you. If you enjoy the task - it’s likely you’ll enjoy the job.
Elias Blumenthal recently did a test for us, here’s what he said: ‘The technical test presented a unique and thorough challenge. It not only tested my skills, but also offered a clear view of what would be expected of me in the position. The open-ended test involved diverse technical challenges using real data that provided insights into company structuring, key performance indicators, growth opportunities, and the decision-making pipeline. The structure of the test also mimicked the natural problem-solving format that I now experience in the position- there is not always one right answer, and you can generally use different skills and resources to hack and develop a meaningful solution. The test confirmed that I was a good fit for the position, and that the position and the company were right for me.’
